Senate Republicans opposition to the $14 billion bailout is the re-enactment of the Civil War. Corkum and Shelby, the new Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee, are the biggest hypocrites going. The fact of the matter is that federal dollars were used to build the Toyota and Honda plants in their home states. I don't recall any outrage about federal dollars being used then?
The frontal assault on the UAW is a joke. Look, I'm not going to deny that the union had lived high off the hog but so had management. The UAW has made concessions and are continuing to do so. But what has the upper management and corporate shareholders of Chrysler and GM given back??? They each have their own jets??? Are you kidding me???
Corkum, Shelby, Vitter and company are hypocritical, un-American political terrorists!!! They are willing to let this industry and the economy go to hell in order to break the union and protect their state interests. To hell with the working man of the Northeast and Midwest!!! Screw those yankees!!! These political terrorists should be ashamed of themselves. Isn't it funny but the Big 3 has to jump through hoops but Wall Street, the banks and the rest of the corporate bastards got billions with NO STRINGS!!!
Where is the outrage from these cost conscious conservative windbags when Bush and company are spending $12 billion a month in Iraq!!! And we can't spend $14 billion to save American jobs and the American auto industry!!!!
I'm so tired of the double standard by these right wing pompous do-nothings. This is why we need to keep the heat on and continue to fight. Hopefully, Bush will have a conscience and do the right thing by taking money from the Wall Street bailout and diverting it to the auto industry. That should hold us over until after January.
P.S.: Look for my next blog on the Illinois governor scandal. If you think I'm upset now wait for that one!!!!!
