Golisano - Mr. Reform?? NOT!!!!!!!!

The recent coup of the NYS Senate by the Republican Party is really interesting and should make one hopeful that real changes could take place except when we examine who the players are behind it. First, there is the magnifcient Tom Golisano. The inept owner of the Sabres is just as inept in political elections. His multiple gubenatorial defeats and his failed attempts to elect Joe Mesi and take out Sam Hoyt prove my point. Now old Tom got pissed off because Malcolm Smith was on his blackberry when old Tom came to speak to Smith about Golisano's agenda. So what does old Tom do??? He gets his attack dog Steve Pigeon to move into action.

Pigeon is the second player in this coup. Mr. Insider back in the 90's, Pigeon still has contacts in Albany. So he reaches out to the two Democratic State Senators who have more ethics issues than ex-Gov. Blago. One, who is the new senate president, has multiple campaign finance violations and is being investigated for trying to funnel state funds to a not-for-profit he has an interest in using his influence. The second culprit is charged with abusing his girlfriend and could get 7 years in jail if convicted.

Next entering the picture is our own Senator Maziarz. Maziarz while in the majority with his buddy Pataki as governor didn't know what the word reform meant until he found himself in the minority. He is quite experienced in getting Dems to work with Republicans to form a majority as he has mastered it here in Niagara County. Maziarz, Golisano, Pigeon and two ethics lacking Dems from downstate are the champions of reform here in NYS. Give me a break!!!!

If Golisano is so interested in reform why doesn't he have the new majority get rid of his boy Mesi who's making $80,000 a year to look pretty?? If Golisano is so committed to reform why doesn't he press to limit campaign donations and institute strict guidelines to curb the influence of lobbyists??? If Maziarz is so interested in reform, why doesn't he sponsor a bill to put a $50,ooo cap on member items?? If Maziarz is so interested in reform, why doesn't he sponsor a bill which will eliminate stipends for committee assignments and committee chairmanships???

This whole thing is a crock!!!! The new majority's first act was to make sure that they got more staff positions and took control of committee chairs. Instead of the these leeches wearing D's on there hats, now they are wearing R's. Golisano plays the game that he is a reformer. He's so committed that when he had to pay more in taxes he skipped town. He's nothing more than a power hungry money grabbing parasite who wants to call the shots. Since he can't win an election, he figures he can buy control. All the way from his compound in Florida. It had to be dumb luck that he made money in his business, because he can't run a hockey team and he is a loser in politics. Here are his key people: in hockey - Larry Quinn, in politics - Steve Pigeon. Need I say more????
